忙しいさなかのイベントは準備で既に精魂使い果たしてしまって、イベント当日はなんだか気が抜けていたりするものです。5回目のサイクルモードはまさしくそんな感じで始まりましたが。。予想以上に沢山の常連さんが足を運んでくださいまして気が引き締まりました。ありがとうございました。 朝いちばんに駆けつけてくださったのは会場近くのOさん 小さいなー。分かるかな？ メッキ屋さんや FさんとTさん 愛知のKさん Aさんや、 Oさん 2014モデルの輪行簡単モデルをいち早くご注文いただき、今回、快く展示車としてご協力くださいましたIさん。 先日ヴィンテージモデルを納車させていただいたばかりのSさんとご検討中のKさん。 Nさんは今日はお一人で。 ...

次回この記事の日本語版を投稿します。 In the first installment of this series" Fuji Feather Part 1 Introduction " I mentioned that this was a very rare lady's high-end model, that there were far too many details to cover in a single post and that we would look at it in three separate installments: "Fuji Feather Part 2 Front-end" , "Fuji Feather Part 3 Mid-section" and in this, the fourth and final installment, we will look at the rear section . One look at the rear section and three things immediately catch one's eye: 1. Creased rear fender and elegant dove tail design 2. Rear carrier has the letters F-U-J-I cut out 3. お留守番

今日から親方と大介は毎年安曇野で開かれる「ポリージャポン」に出かけて行きました。今年は私は京都でお留守番です。今年の レストア部門 テーマ部門(今年のテーマはロードレーサー)は大介がレストアした彼の愛車を出品予定。さてさてどんな報告が聞けるかな。明日は午後からお店を開けますよ。 26C のタイヤと キムラのバッテリーライト 入荷してます。

雨ですね。 台風はすでに北へ遠ざかりましたが、我が家の辺りはどうやら寒気の影響で雨が降り続いています。気温も低く、この秋初めてストーブに火を入れました。いつもより2週間ほど遅いです。 さて、昨日、4泊5日の東京出張から無事戻っています。 あまりに盛り沢山なので何から報告しようかな。。。 秋葉原。 イベント出店中のシクロツーリスト編集長、田村さん。 小さな会場でしたが、すごい盛り上がり。 初めてのアキバパワーにびっくりしてしまいました。 バイシクルショップ玄さんにも初めてお邪魔してきました。 決して大きくないお店ですが、整理整頓が見事でその収納力に驚きました。 きっと、そんな工夫する力が自転車作りにも活かされるんでしょうね。 ...

京王閣フリーマーケット

今日は店長と二人で東京です。 終日良い天気でフリマ日和。暑かったー。今日の京王閣フリーマーケットは主催者発表では34店舗、来場者は春に比べると少し少なかったとのこと。それでも我々にとっては初めてのイベントでしたのでとても楽しめましたよ。店長なんてイキイキとあちこちで油を売ってました。東京では年々こんなフリーマーケットが増えているんですって。増えすぎるのもまた別の問題があるかもしれませんが、率直な感想は目白押しで羨ましい。 フリマの後、主催者のSさんのお誘いで参加させていただいた打ち上げも裏話を聞けたりして楽しかったです。ありがとうございました。 しかし、残念なのは写真を撮るのを忘れてしまったこと。いやー、ゴメンチャイ。

次回、この記事の日本語版を投稿します。 Here is a real beauty with an equally beautiful story. (Click on the photo below to enlarge) This is an extremely rare Nichbei Fuji Feather lady's high-end model. The original owner, Ms."Y", a woman from Chofu City, Tokyo, received this beautiful bicycle as a present from her dear husband the year they were first married back in 1958. These photos are courtesy of a bicycle shop proprietor who lovingly restored this wonderful machine at the request from Ms"Y" to rekindle the fond memories of her beloved late husband. (Photo courtesy of Bicycle Culture Center ) Bicycles were prized possessions and often part of a new bride's dowry as can be seen in the above photo which shows the dowry items in the foreground and the new bride in the background dressed in traditional Japanese wedding attire.
