次回、この記事の日本語版を投稿します。 Frequent visitors may recall that in the last post we took a look at a pristine Yamaguchi"Gold" sent in from S-san of Hokkaido. In this installment, we will take a look at another one of S-san's vintage Japanese bicycles, a 1952 Nichibei Fuji carrier bicycle. Compare the above photo with the one below, taken from a 1953 catalog. Looks to be nearly complete as far as being original is concerned, though the chaincase may be replacement which is quite understandable given the age. Head tube Appears to be missing a badge in the middle. The lower badge is has a nice rich blue cloisonne , typical of this period. Guarantee badge on the lower portion of the seat tube. Those of you who know Japanese will quickly recognize the use of the old kanji for the word guarantee保證票 and bicycle自轉車 as opposed to their modern day counterparts 保証書 and 自転車. . Check o ...

ここで靴を履き替える。 夢の庭園。 パノラマ撮影。 大弛小屋で、コーヒーを一杯。 ２時頃下界に向けて出発。 鼓川温泉でひとっ風呂浴びてから、家人に頼まれた桃の配送を頼まなければならないのでちょっと焦り気味。 鼓川温泉はこじんまりした温泉で施設も新しくて綺麗。 桃は、JAで買ったら間違いないと温泉の人に言われたが、これが山梨市駅の近くということが、当初目をつけていた牧丘のお店で判明した。 さらに焦りながら、そのお店に向かった。 ここからは写真を撮る余裕が無く。 無事、発送手続きを終えて、塩山駅に着いたのは午後５時。 当初４時頃の電車に乗る予定であったが、結局５時４２分発の特急かいじに乗った。 朝食を忘れるという失敗があったが、今回 ...

次回、この記事の日本語版を投稿します。 Let's take a look at some photos recently sent in from other fellow vintage Japanese bicycle enthusiasts. First up is S-san from Hokkaido. S-san is the proud owner of a few vintage Japanese bicycles and sent in photos of his Yamaguchi"Gold" bicycle. Beautiful. The condition is amazing, either stored very well or pieced together with NOS (New Old Stock) parts. Either way she is a beauty. As you will note in some of the close-ups there is no sign of any wear anywhere! In accordance with the model name"Gold" this bicycle has lots of gold accents. Let's take a look at a few. First is the gold colored fender ornament. Don't see many in gold. Head badge is gold. Incidentally notice the registration badge.
